Jeff Nehr
Senior Vice President of Business Development
As Senior Vice President of Business Development for Hope Gas and Hope Utilities, Jeff is responsible for directing sales, overseeing marketing and communications efforts, and leading the company’s microgrid projects. He has more than 30 years of experience leading innovative energy projects including combined heat and power, fuel cells, renewable natural gas, and hydrogen.
Before joining Hope Utilities, Jeff worked for Peoples Natural Gas Co. and Equitable Gas. As VP of Business Development at Peoples he implemented corporate market strategy to help drive revenue growth. He developed the Peoples Expansion Program, which focused on offering service to more than 300,000 customers, and worked with commercial customers to install on-site generation to more cost-effectively and reliably meet their electricity needs.
Additionally, Jeff led the Peoples Joint Development Program with WATT Fuel Cells, creating efficient, environmentally responsible power systems for residential homes. He led efforts on carbon offsets, renewable natural gas, and hydrogen initiatives at Peoples as well. Jeff previously served as Peoples’ VP of Commercial Operations and has worked at EQT Midstream and Equitable Gas.
The Pennsylvania native and Pittsburgh-area resident holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. Nehr is also a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh XXXIV and serves as a member of the Marcellus Shale Coalition, Renewable Natural Gas Coalition and American Gas Association.
He has volunteered his time as a coach for Miracle League Baseball, an organized baseball league for special needs children and adults.
