The heart of Mountaineer pride – the beloved 55-year-old WVU Coliseum in Morgantown – is stepping into a new era. Thanks to a landmark 10-year partnership with Hope Gas, the iconic venue will be named Hope Coliseum as the athletic program eyes becoming a top-tier Big 12 program.
Hope has a long tradition of investing in West Virginia’s future; this agreement represents a shared promise between two organizations that have served the Mountain State for a combined total of 285 years.
The agreement covers naming rights, sponsorship and future donations to the athletic program, providing an annual revenue stream for WVU athletics and its multimedia rights partner, Mountaineer Sports Properties.
This funding will help usher in a new era for WVU’s athletic programs, as Hope’s agreement directly supports the WVU Board of Governors’ vision to position the university among the top funding tiers in the Big 12.
Hope Coliseum serves as the home court for men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, wrestling, gymnastics and rifle, and a destination during times of celebration, including annual commencement ceremonies.
Hope is proud to honor the rich heritage of the Mountain State and its people, reaffirming its commitment to partner with schools at all levels to power the future.
